Biography

Dr. Walid Abuhammour is a Consultant – Paediatric Infectious Disease, and heads the Paediatric Infectious Diseases department at Al Jalila Children’s. He is a Professor of Pediatrics at Michigan State University, USA, an Adjunct Professor of Pediatrics at the United Arab Emirates University and a visiting professor of Pediatrics at the Hashemite University, Jordan. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) as well as the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA). Dr. Walid is American Board-certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases and has also been certified by the American Certification Board in Infection Control and Epidemiology. He earned his MBA from Oakland University, USA, with a focus on health care management.

He serves as an editor and a reviewer for many peer-reviewed medical journals. He has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, he has written several medical chapters. Dr. Walid has earned many prestigious awards for his contribution to the field of pediatric infectious diseases from medical associations such as Michigan State Medical Associating, USA. He has also received awards and recognition by Strathmore’s Who’s Who (Leadership and Dedication), and Cambridge Who’s Who – Honored member recognition.
