Biography

Dr Sania Shahid is an Arab Board-certified Specialist Paediatrician working in Emergency Department at Al Jalila Children's Specialty Hospital. She has graduated from Dubai Medical College in 2014, a world-renowned medical education institution for girls in UAE. Dr Sania has completed her Paediatric Residency from Dubai Residency Training Programme (DRTP) at Dubai Health Authority in 2019. Additionally, she is also an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a candidate of Member of the Royal College of Paediatric and Child Health. Prior to joining Al Jalila, she worked as a Specialist Registrar at Al Mafraq Hospital Abu Dhabi, Clinical Instructor in Paediatric at Dubai Medical College and participated in training IBCLE candidates. She has keen interest in managing various Paediatric Emergencies like Trauma and Fractures, Burns, ENT Foreign Body removal and other paediatric medical multispecialty emergencies. While working at Al Jalila she has developed a special interest in Point of care Ultrasonography (POCUS) and is under training for the same. She has done many research and audit and is a recipient of outstanding research presentation award in 2019. Apart from being a passionate paediatrician she is also involved in training future paediatricians, interns and medical students and aim at providing the best emergency care to the beautiful paediatric population of UAE firmly adapting to the mission of Al Jalila where “CHILDREN COME FIRST”.
