Biography

Dr. Safeena Kherani is a Consultant in Pediatric Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery. She has over 15 years of pediatric otolaryngology experience working with the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in the USA, Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Canada, SEHA in Abu Dhabi and presently Al Jalila Children’s Hospital (AJCH) in Dubai. She has served as the Department Director of Continuing Professional Development and Assistant Professor with the University of Ottawa in Canada and received the Top 40 under 40 award.


She has co-authored the book chapter “Airway Abnormalities” in Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Care: A Patient Case Method as well as published in numerous academic journal publications. She currently works at AJCH as the Director of the Aerodigestive Service and as Clinical Adjunct Associate Professor with Mohammed Bin Rashid University. Recently, she won the Silver Prize at the AJCH Research Competition as well as the A+ Surgical Performance Award. Dr. Kherani has strong knowledge and experience in medical and surgical management of snoring, noisy breathing and stridor, paediatric nasal, sinus and airway surgery, hearing loss and middle ear disease, benign neck masses as well as other general paediatric otolaryngology disorders.
