Paediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist
Dr Petar is Specialist Paediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist at Al Jalila Children’s Hospital. Graduated from University of Belgrade, Serbia in 2000. He completed his Anesthesia Specialist training in Anesthesia and Intensive Care medicine in Belgrade in 2006. Dr Petar started residency at Military Medical Academy of Belgrade in 2001 for one year and continued residency program at Mother and Child Healthcare Institute, Belgrade and Clinical Center of Serbia in 2002. He continued working at Mother and Child Healthcare Institute as General Paediatric and Cardiac Anesthesia Specialist/Consultant until 2012. Meanwhile he did clinical attachment in Paediatric Cardiac Anesthesia at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London, UK in 2008 and clinical attachment in Paediatric Cardiac Anesthesia at Ospedale Paediatrico Bambino Jesu, Rome, Italy in 2009. In 2010 he worked for 3 months with Emergency, Italian Humanitarian Organization at Salam Center for Cardiac Surgery, Khartoum, Sudan helping them starting Paediatric Cardiac Surgery and CICU. Before joining Al Jalila Hospital in May 2022, he worked for 10 years in Kuwait at Chest Diseases Hospital as Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist. While living and working in Serbia he was regular lecturer at national Paediatric Anesthesia Conferences, and has been author of two chapters in Paediatric Anesthesia book. With total of 20 years of experience in Paediatric Anesthesia, he is highly skilled in providing anaesthesia for complex cardiac and general surgery procedures for children as well as neonates.
