Paediatric Cardiologist
Dr. Mohamed Kasem is Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist at Al Jalila Children’s. He completed his basic paediatric training in Manchester in 2006, and gained membership from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child health (MRCPCH) from Glasgow, UK, in 2006. He followed this with stints at various hospitals across London, Glasgow, Liverpool, and Birmingham. Dr. Kasem finished his first CCT in paediatric cardiology with special interest in cardiology from Birmingham in 2013. He worked for two years in the cardiac unit of Birmingham Children’s Hospital which is the largest centre in Europe for single ventricle and Fontan patients.
Following
that, he worked at the Yorkshire Heart Centre, Leeds, UK, for six years, where he
gained his second CCST in paediatric and adult congenital heart diseases
(Intervention Cardiology). Dr. Kasem obtained a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology
from the Yorkshire Heart Centre, the largest adult congenital centre and the second
largest intervention unit in the UK. Dr. Kasem gained a certificate in Congenital
Heart Disease Imaging from the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging
(EACVI) in 2016. He has published many papers in peer review journals, and has
presented in numerous international conferences.
