Dr. Buthaina is a Consultant paediatrician and paediatric gastroenterologist, With 31-year experience. She working in tertiary hospitals covering vast geographical area under Dubai Health authorities. she was the head of paediatric gastroenterology department for 7 years in Dubai hospital before merging the paediatric facilities in dubai under one umbrella at Aljlaila hospital in September 2021. She has experience in managing complex paediatric gastroenterology like inflammatory bowel disease , celiac disease , acute and chronic liver diseases , liver transplantation , food allergy and eosinophilic esophagitis . she also has experience in performing diagnostic upper endoscopies and colonoscopies in addition to therapeutic procedures like polypectomy , banding of esophageal varices and esophageal dilatation. She has established first home parentral nutrition in Dubai in 2014 and has special interest in congenital diarrheas. She held impactful administrative positions within Dubai Health authority (DHA) and was chairing 2 main committees, morbidity and mortality committee and overseas treatment committee. She was also senior teaching member in dubai medical collage from 2000- 2010. She has multiped scientific presentations in several international conferences and local media.
