Triple Endoscopy

This procedure involves three procedures under one sedation or anesthesia – Rigid bronchoscopy, where the ENT surgeon evaluates the larynx (voice box), trachea and main bronchi (after assessing the noseand nasopharynx via nasopharynscopy); Felxible bronchoscopy, where the pulmonologist evaluates the lower airways and lungs; and Endoscopy, where in the gastroenterologist assesses the esophagus (swallowing tube) and stomach. The procedure involves insertion of a tube (flexible or rigid) in the child’s airway (breathing tube) or esophagus (swallowing tube) with the camera at the tip of it, which enables the physicians to assess the airway. These combined procedure done simultaneously increases the chances of a precision in diagnosing child’s symptoms and comprehensive evaluation, while avoiding risk of multiple anesthetic exposure.
