Noninvasive Urodynamics

Noninvasive Urodynamics (NIU) is the measurement of urinary flow, which provides indirect information about lower urinary tract function. The principal study of NIU is uroflowmetry, which requires the patient to void into a flowmeter while urine flow rate is measured and displayed graphically. Urine volume voided along with the shape of the voiding curve and the maximum flow rate are essential information that must be interpreted by clinicians in order to understand the origin of a patient’s lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS).
