Dr. Iyad Hussein is a UK and UAE registered Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry at Al Jalila Children's. He is an Assistant Professor in Paediatric Dentistry at Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) Dubai since 2014. Dr. Iyad joined an international team dedicated to training UAE MSc postgraduate dentists in paediatric dentistry according to a curriculum recognized by UAE’s Ministry of Higher Education and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Ireland. Dr. Iyad's international expertise in dentistry spans over 34 years. He obtained a DDS from Damascus University, Syria, and returned to the UK in 1990 as a postgraduate paediatric dentist at Leeds Dental Institute and obtained an MDentSci in Paediatric Dentistry in 1995. Dr. Iyad became a fully registered UK dentist after passing the GDC’s Statutory Examination and opted to work in NHS hospital oral and maxillofacial surgery in West Yorkshire in England. In 1998, he moved to Scotland where Dundee Dental Hospital and School became his home for the next 16 years. Dr. Iyad worked there in various dental disciplines before returning full time to paediatric dentistry. He is a UK GDC registered Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry since 2001 and is also a Member of Faculty of Dentistry of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Dr. Iyad has several scientific publications in British and international dental journals related to paediatric dentistry, oral surgery, behavioural sciences, and periodontology.
Dr. Manal Al Halabi is Consultant Paediatric Dentist at Al Jalila Children's and obtained her
dental degree from the University of Jordan in Amman and her Certificate of
Specialty Training in Pediatric Dentistry and Master of Oral Biology from the
University of Maryland at Baltimore in the USA.
Dr. Manal is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is currently an Associate Professor and
Chair of the Pediatric Dentistry Department at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed College
of Dental Medicine, Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health
Sciences. Her experience includes
academic positions with Boston University and the University of Maryland as
well as private clinical practice. Her
research interests include oral health of patients with special needs,
traumatic dental injuries, dental education and biological caries management in
